Custom dress shirts

A shirt is the garment closest to your skin and the one ready-to-wear gets most wrong. We draft yours the way we draft a jacket: from zero.

Most shirt problems are posture problems. A forward neck, a low right shoulder, a rower’s back — the rack cannot see them, so the collar gapes and the cuffs ride. Your Climbwise shirt pattern records all of it, which is why the second shirt is even better than the first and the sixth is boring in the best possible way.

Collar design gets particular attention here. Height, point length and spread are chosen against your face and the jackets you wear, then cut with a firm but unfused interlining so the collar keeps its roll through a Malaysian working day.

Cloths run from hard-wearing two-fold poplins and Oxfords through to airy linens and voiles. Everything is pre-washed before cutting, so the fit you approve is the fit that survives the laundry.

The particulars

  • Individual paper pattern — posture, not just sizes
  • Collar and cuff shapes designed for you, kept on file
  • Two-fold cottons, linens and voiles, pre-washed
  • Single-needle seams; buttons shanked by hand
  • Minimum order of one; fitting shirt on first orders

Shirts begin at RM320, with most two-fold cottons landing between RM380 and RM520. First orders take three to four weeks including the fitting shirt; repeats about two.
